Texas licensing records
Childcare by what you actually need
A general daycare search assumes weekday hours and a well child. These 201 pages do not: each one lists the licensed operations in a city that record a particular kind of care with the state — the night shift, the weekend, the morning a child wakes up too ill for their usual place. Drawn from the Texas extract of 2026-09-05.
Night care
The state records “Night Care” as a service category. It means the operation is licensed to care for children overnight — not simply that it closes late.

Weekend care
“Weekend Care” is the state's own category. It is a stronger signal than a Saturday appearing in an hours string, which may only mean the office is open.

Sick-child care
The state calls this “Get Well Care” — care for a mildly ill child who would be sent home from an ordinary setting. It is not medical care.
Part-time care
“Part Time Care” means the operation takes children for less than a full-time schedule. It covers mother's-day-out style arrangements, which are often not separately licensed.

Drop-in care
“Drop-In Care” means occasional care without an ongoing enrolment. Availability still depends on the day — the category says they do it, not that they have space.

Accredited
“Accredited” means a national body (NAEYC and similar) has accredited the operation. It is a separate bar from state licensing, which every operation here already meets. Most places do not have it — about 8 in 100 statewide — and not having it is not a mark against a place. It is rarer among home-based providers, who are also the ones most likely to open evenings and weekends. Treat it as a bonus where it appears, not as a bar the others failed.
